Case: Jfokus

Project Type: Conference

When Jfokus, Sweden's largest conference with focus on Java, wanted a design overhaul, they contacted Modesty.

Challenge

Jfokus evolved from Javaforum, a joint effort between Sun Microsystems and SICS. In 2009 the third Jfokus conference brought the latest news from the Java community to over 700 attendees. Modesty was asked to help with every aspect of branding, from webdesign to giveaway, and adding the conference look and feel to the new location, Filmstaden Sergel in Stockholm.

Solution

Together with the conference team, we set the theme and started producing the needed material. Since Jfokus is based on volontary contribution, their budget is very closely tied together with the number of persons attending the conference. Since the registration was open until only a few days before the conference, and large quantities of giveaways needed to be ordered. In Order to stay within the budget, Modesty used our built up network of suppliers to deliver the exact right amount giveaways and print just in time for the conference.

Results

The two conference days brought more than 700 attendees that each received a Jfokus-branded backpack, tshirt and personlized schedule for the 5 different tracks. Speakers from all over the world delivered more than 40 speeches and seminars about everything Java related.
